It is one thing to know about God and another to experience a life changing encounter with Him. A simple way of checking whether you have such a personal relationship with God can be done by asking oneself a few questions. The worst thing one can ever do is to deceive oneself by not being honest with the following question:

If you were to die today, where would you spend eternity?
Is it Heaven? Hell? or Unsure? If your answer was Hell or Unsure, then today is your day of salvation.

Read the following Key Statements of Truth:

• God’s love is deeper than you can imagine. He sent His son to die for you so that you will NOT live in shame or condemnation.

• Wrong Notion
  There is a deception in today’s society and culture that all roads lead to God. There is a notion that as long as you are a good person, kind, loving, giving to the poor and hurting nobody then you will go to heaven. But that is the lie of the devil.

The bible says in Romans 3:23, ‘for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God’and also the bible in Ephesians 2:8-9 says, ‘for it is by grace you have been saved through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not of works so that no one can boast’. From this you can see that we all have blown it and we all need a saviour. Romans 6:23 says, ‘The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.’

• This then necessitated the following truth: Romans 5:8, ‘But God demonstrates His love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.’ This is why it is misleading and self destructive to be made to believe that being a christian is to simply be good person, kind, loving and do the best you can.

• Not many ways to God but only one
  Not many people still embrace this truth in a world of political correctness. There are no other roads to God or other ways to salvation. It is shocking that this lie of ‘Many Paths to God theory’ has been embedded in the minds of many including other churches in order to heal people’s conscience from the nagging need for something real and fulfilling. Friends you need the truth because when you know the truth the truth will set you free.

John 14:6 says, ‘JESUS is the way, the truth and the life and that no one goes to the Father except through Him.’ This is why it is misleading and self destructive to be made to believe that being a christian is to be good, kind, loving and do no one any harm. It is impossible to pursue God and ultimately go to heaven without accepting the work Jesus did for you and me on the cross.

• Decision time
  This finally brings us to a decision. John 1:12 says, But to as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even those who believe in His name.We must all individually receive Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.   Dear Jesus,

  I need You in my life. I acknowledge that I have sinned and I come to You right now. Forgive me of my sins. Thank You for dying for me on the cross I believe You are the Son of the Living God and You rose from the dead and You live for ever. I receive You today as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for forgiving my sins and for giving me eternal life. Please take control of my life from now onwards and please mould me into the person You want me to be.
